The soldiers have their work cut out for them, and they begin digging a well to collect the water before it dies. One soldier, Javed Khan, is at the brink of giving up when he sees a young child's hand sticking out from under the mud. With the help of local farmers and villagers, Javed makes his way into an abandoned mine shaft that leads into what appears to be an underground water reservoir from which they can then bring up fresh water from below ground. He and his comrades know that this is their chance to get the people of the village water, and use it to get the villagers back on their feet again. However, they soon face challenges that include having to rescue local villagers from a concentration camp after they have been rounded up by the victors, and overcoming a handful of enemy soldiers who are trying to destroy them and their well so that no one else can find water in the future."jwar bhata" has been released on VCD and DVD formats in India and Nepal by Greenwich Media.
